Our Process
When Pastor Tom notified our Church board of his intent to step down, our board assumed the responsibilities of a pastoral search committee in accordance to the churches bylaws. Having served for 11 years at Risen King, Pastor Tom recommended Pastor Jonathan Papa to the board for our consideration.
The board immediately began it's process of due diligence and interviewed Pastor Jonathan and Nivin Papa to determine if their ministry philosophy, experience, temperament, and leadership were a right fit for Risen King. The board held several interviews and working lunches with Pastor Jonathan to determine if he was God's choice for our church family.
Having felt the direction of the Holy Spirit, upon the recommendation of the Assemblies of God, and after much prayer, the board has unanimously agreed that Pastor Jonathan, Nivin, and the Papa family are God's choice servants for our church family.

Our Reasons
Our decision to present Pastor Jonathan to you is as follows:
1. Pastor Jonathan has a history of a close partnership with Risen King Church and it's leadership team (Shared Youth Events, Shared Worship Resources).
2. Risen King Church will become a stronger and more vibrant congregation as members of Life Source Church come into the Risen King family to better serve North Jersey.
3. Pastor Jonathan has experience leading in ministries ranging from 100 to 2,500, and has the vision necessary to lead Risen King Church into God's vision for the future.
4. Pastor Jonathan is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, and holds a Master's Degree in Theology. Having been educated Pastor Jonathan can present a balanced view of scripture and adequately disciple the church in an increasingly secular society.
5. Pastor Jonathan has a heart for multi-generational ministry, and a multi-pronged ministry approach seeing our outreach arms at His Helping Hands and M633 as essential to the future of the church.
