Core Values
At Risen King we believe that we have a unique culture that allows us to help fulfill our vision of connecting people, equipping for service and engaging our community. Our Culture is embodied in 7 Core Values the we live by:
1. It's OK to Not Be OK, But It's Not OK to Stay That Way
God redeems our brokenness and restores what sin has taken away. If you've been physically, emotionally, or psychologically hurt, you can find your home at Risen King.
Ephesians 4: 23 & 24 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.”
2. We’re Better Together
We are a multi-cultural, multi-generational church that thrives on our diversity. Our gifts, personalities, backgrounds, and cultures all work together to make us stronger and create a beautiful mosaic. Ephesians 4:4 “For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.” 1 Corinthians 12:13 “Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.”
3. We’re Contributors Not Consumers
With excellence of heart, we give the best of our time, efforts, prayers, generosity, and talents to be fully invested in the mission of our church. 1 Peter 4:10 “ God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
4. We’re Lifelong Learners
Since we serve an infinite God, no one “has arrived”. There are endless opportunities to develop emotionally, spiritually, physically, and relationally through spiritual leadership and community. Acts 2:42 “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”
5. We’re Called to Reach with Compassion
The Good News of Jesus is to be shared. We emphatically reach out to others from a place of experience and through the witness of a transformed life. 2 Corinthians 2:14 “...Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume.”
6. We’re Bible Based & Spirit Empowered
Messages are inspirationally relevant to everyday life and anchored in Biblical truth. The Holy Spirit leads us into the understanding of God’s Word, empowers us for witness, and enables us to increasingly love more like Christ. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” Acts 1:8 “ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
7. We’re Blessed to be a Blessing
All the promises of God have been made available to us through the saving work of Jesus. As recipients of God's blessings we seek to support the prosperity of others both locally and globally. Genesis 12: 3 “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

Beliefs
We believe there is one God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:5) He is sometimes called Jehovah or Yahweh (the Hebrew word for God). He is revealed in three persons: God (the Father), Jesus (the Son), and the Holy Spirit. The three are commonly referred to as the Trinity. (Matthew 28:19)
We believe salvation is available to anyone who believes in Jesus.
Jesus is God’s Son. He has always existed. Because of sin, mankind was doomed to die (Romans 6:23). Jesus came to earth as a baby, born to a virgin girl named Mary. He lived a life without sin, and willingly died for us. (John 3:16) Three days later He rose from the dead, He ascended to Heaven, and He is alive today. We can know Him personally by believing in Him and asking Him to forgive our sins.
We believe the Bible is the Word of God and the ultimate source of truth.
The Bible was written over a period of about 1500 years, in three languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic), by 40 different writers, yet it contains an incredibly accurate historical record and an impeccably consistent presentation of Spiritual truth. This is only possible because the words of the Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The greatest evidence of the authority of the Bible is found in the obvious result of applying the truths of the Bible to our every day lives. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe God still works in our lives in incredible ways.
The Holy Spirit is still at work in the lives of believers today. In fact, many of the miracles of the Bible still happen and are documented every day. The healing of diseases, the restoration of broken lives, even prophecies and supernatural occurrences, all these things still happen. The reason these things still take place is because the Holy Spirit is still at work in the lives of believers. (James 5:14-16; John 14:12)
The Assemblies of God
Risen King is a part of a global network of churches known as the Assemblies of God. The above description of our beliefs is a very basic, introductory view of our doctrine. For more information about the beliefs and doctrines of the Assemblies of God, visit the AG website.
